last week i visited dusty groove records in west town

dusty groove is a chicago classic

the walls lined with everything from rare jazz pressings to funk, soul, and global finds you won’t see anywhere else.

they add hundreds of new titles daily, so every visit feels like a fresh dig.

plus there’s a whole downstairs section where every record is just 99 cents.

this week’s vinyl of the week is gilberto with turrentine

it’s a stunning collaboration between brazilian bossa nova queen astrud gilberto and legendary jazz saxophonist stanley turrentine, arranged by the great eumir deodato.

a perfect blend of smooth bossa grooves and soulful jazz, this record feels like a warm evening with a glass of wine in hand
